Today, a video for Gary Clark Jr.'s song "When My Train Pulls In" was released. The clip was directed by Los Angeles director Carmela Makela. The song is from Gary's latest release, Blak and Blu. Watch the video above.
The follows two distinct stories: A young man struggling to make ends meet while caring for his family, and a relationship between high school sweethearts. While the characters are unrelated, they all experience personal struggles. Gary's momentum-building riffs supply an emotional soundtrack, and the honest lyrics suggest that a change must come for the characters in the video.
Carmela Makela spoke to Nowness explaining why the sex scene was her favorite to write:
That scene was my favorite to write, to shoot and to edit. It is a moment that a lot of girls see and get a feeling in their stomach, because we've all been there. It’s a very real situation.
Blak and Blu is currently available on Amazon (Vinyl, CD, MP3) and iTunes.
