Swedish-sisters-duo First Aid Kit just released their third album, Stay Gold, on June 10th, and they stopped by WNYC Soundcheck to play acoustic versions of two tracks from the indie-country/folk record: "Waitress Song" and "My Silver Lining."

First Aid Kit "My Silver Lining" Live on WNYC Soundcheck 2014:
Acoustics for the Söderberg sisters aren't a complete no-brainer -- Stay Gold features a large ensemble that includes flute, violin, and piano. But the heart of the duo's music is their soulful harmonies and their honest, gripping voices. It adds up to pure gold in the energetic acoustic of "Waitress Song." And while you might miss the urging violin or the rollicking, Western-ish drum beat from the studio version of "My Silver Lining," you'll enjoy this sparer take's lonesome quality. Look out especially for the intense silence halfway through.
Either way, acoustic or studio (which you can stream through Spotify), you need to check this duo out. You can find the review of Stay Gold at Zumic.
