An unlikely duo, Young Thug and J. Cole have been working together since 2018's KOD tour. In recent months, information has come out that Thug's upcoming album, GØŁDMØÜFDÖG, is being executive produced by Cole. Yesterday, we got the first single, "The London," which is the first official collaboration between the two rappers and also features Travis Scott. That is a lot of talent on one track. Listen above on YouTube.
The song is bouncy and melodic, with trap 808 booms, sizzling hi-hats, and a flute sample that emphasizes the groove's infectious swing. All three vocalists provide strong lyricism, gliding over the instrumental track while bringing their own individual flavors to each section. J. Cole and Young Thug deliver unapologetic verses, as Travis Scott's haunting auto-tuned vocals make for a memorable hook.
The GØŁDMØÜFDÖG album release date is still a mystery. He set up a goldmoufdog.com website with a countdown clock, but every time the page is loaded it shows a different number of days. Is this a technical glitch or a practical joke?
