Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has formed a new band called The Longshot and released a 3-track debut EP featuring the songs “Taxi Driver”, “Love Is For Losers”, and “Chasing A Ghost." The songs have a pop-punk energy to them with energetic guitar, short-but-sweet solos, and Billie Joe's familiar vocals. Listen below.

At this time, little is known about The Longshot's members. Billie Joe's son Joey is the drummer for the band SWMRS, and many are speculating that he is part of The Longshot because of an Instagram post he shared. On the Green Day Reddit page, someone created a "Longshot megathread" with full information and rumors about the band lineup and upcoming album release. Stay tuned for more info, because nothing has been officially confirmed yet.

Love is for Losers is scheduled for release later this year. Pick up the EP on Amazon.
