Jazz enthusiasts, the wait for the new Boardwalk empire soundtrack is over: listen to Boardwalk Empire Volume 2 available online and in its entirety a week before the official September 3rd release date.
Classics including "It Had to Be You" and "I Aint Got Nobody" are re-recorded featuring exciting new vocals from Elvis Costello and, believe it or not, punk girl Patti Smith. The list of top talent from a range of genres continues including New York's own big band jazz ensemble Vince Giordano & The Nighthawks and David Johansen of The New York Dolls. Randall Poster, the show's musical supervisor, discloses to Billboard, "much of the great American songbook was [...] born out of the 1920s." Listen to this soundtrack to enjoy a a "cornucopia of musical gems" from a time period that was moving into the jazz age.
