Social Distortion have offered their take on a classic Creedence Clearwater Revival tune and it's blended seamlessly: equal parts classic rock and gritty cow-punk. The song was recorded for the soundtrack to the upcoming animated film Free Birds, which will star Amy Poehler, Owen Wilson, Woody Harrelson, and George Takei.
Frontman Mike Ness had this to say to Rolling Stone:
"In third grade, I was listening to Creedence Clearwater records as well as Beatles and Rolling Stones. Covering this song was easy and natural, as it is a major part of the foundation in my songwriting. It was a blast recording it and it will be even more fun playing it live."
