Diamonds. Checks. Her baby. These are a few of Cardi B’s favorite things.
“Money” dropped earlier today, surprising fans who were anticipating the song Thursday. It is Cardi B’s first single as the main artist since her debut album in April and the birth of her baby, Kulture Ciari Cephus, in July. The song is the same high-intensity trap that sent her career into overdrive with "Bodak Yellow" in 2017. Watch above.
In the cover art, she wears nothing but an ornamental hat and what seems to be a hundred gold watches. “All a bad bitch need is her money,” she flexes in the chorus. While at first, it sounds like she's just boasting about her newfound wealth, halfway through she raps, "I need cheese for my egg." In the end, she changes the lyrics of the chorus to "All a bad bitch need is her K.K.C." This might be the closest a trap queen can come to a lullaby.
