Durham based musician MC Taylor is the lead vocalist and primary songwriter of the Americana duo Hiss Golden Messenger. This coming September he and bandmate Scott Hirsch will be putting out Lateness of Dancers, the pair's first release on Merge Records. Check out the first music video from the record, "Lucia" above.
Only MC Taylor is featured here, performing the song on the front porch of a remote house. The video's simplicity lets the song shine, and it makes for an intimate viewing experience. "Lucia" itself is a stripped down and soulful song. MC Taylor's vocals are calming but there's a hint of a roughness that makes the track more compelling. There is nothing flashy in this video, Taylor's presence is strong and that's all it needs.
