Keith Richards, guitarist for one of the biggest rock bands ever, recently appeared on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. However, the focus did not end up on the 'Stone's next tour. They spent the majority of the time on air talking lemons.
Fallon recalled an earlier conversation they had about Richard's passion for cultivating lemon trees. Apparently, Richards gave Fallon one of his grapefruit sized lemons as a gift. In return, Fallon had master chef Mario Batali make a Moroccan lemon preserve out of it, gave the preserve back to Richards and saved the seeds left in a small Dixie cup.
After retelling this story to the audience, Fallon revealed the potted Lemon plant he was growing. Appropriately, he started wailing "The Circle Of Life" and quipped to Richards "I'll see the fruits of his labors in about 19 years". Richards astutely responded "Hey, with this one, don't be surprised if it starts to 'Jack-and-the-Bean-Stalk' on ya".
